Construct 2 (10 IN) Christmas Tree-Natural blocks.

Block Pattern

Use a design wall to layout the blocks as they will be arranged in the quilt.

Sashing

Fabric Required: 1/4 YD
Finished Width: 5.00
Style: Solid
Fill: Evergreen
Cut 1 (5.5 IN) strip for the horizontal sash.

Construct 1 horizontal sash of size 10.5 by 5.5 IN

For all rows except the top most row, sew a horizontal sash strip to the top of the row.

Sew rows together according to the quilt diagram.

Borders

Fabric requirements are calculated for square corner borders and standard seams. Mitered corners and seams will require additional fabric.
Before adding borders, measure your quilt top length and width down the center. Folding the quilt in half may make it easier to get an accurate measurement.
Compare your measurements to the "Expected quilt dimensions before adding this border". Adjust the border instructions as necessary to match your actual quilt size.

Block Pattern

Cut 2 (5.5 IN) strips of the border fabric.

Cut strips into 6 pieces of length 10 IN.

Piece 2 borders for quilt length. Completed pieced borders should be 25.5 by 5.5 (IN).

Pin and sew borders along length of quilt.

Piece 2 borders for quilt width. Completed pieced borders should be 20.5 by 5.5 (IN).

Pin and sew borders along width of quilt.

Backing

Approximate fabric requirements for backing: 3/4 YD.

Cut a piece of backing fabric at least 26.5 by 41.5.

Binding

Fabric required: 1/4 YD. Cut 3 strips of width 2.5 IN.
